International Airports:  (for Marin/San Francisco Bay Area)

San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Oakland International Airport(OAK) -Main international Airports - best to fly into when visiting Marin or San Francisco. Both SFO and OAK are only a 45 minute drive from the Marin Vacation Home Rental.

Airportors & Shuttles from Marin County to Airports:

  • Marin Airporter Shuttle Service
    • Picks up every half hour at the highway entrance (2 min's away) and goes direct to San Francisco International Airport (SFO), which is approximately a 40 minute to 1 hour drive from the house. When taking Marin Airporter, the driver will hook you up with Taxi service, upon request, when onboard.

 Ferry System: 
The Ferry system in Marin is an inexpensive way to see the San Francisco bay area in a unique and inspiring light. As you cruise the bay,  pass famous Alcatraz, the incredible Golden Gate Bridge span, feel th Marin hills with magistical Mt. Tam.  The waters of the SF bay give you the bay area, including the San Francisco skyline, along with the East bay, a great understanding of your position in the bay area. Enjoy viewing ocean sealife like seals and birds, modern yachts and ships , nature and the metro, all in one trip.

Ferry Services in Marin to San Francisco: from the Marin towns of Larkspur, Tiburon and Sausalito one can catch the ferry to San Francisco’s Ferry Terminal. On select events, such as a Giants game at the Pac Bell Ball Park (SF Giants home), the ferry will run at additional times from Larkspur Ferry Terminal (which is only 7 minutes from the home!).

Island destination Ferries from Marin:  Fun!!!! Great Vistas of the bay and SF!

  • Angel Island Ferry (a great picnicking, hiking, scenic and historic destination) can be reached by Tiburon or Sausalito Ferry Terminals.
  • Alcatraz Island Ferry leaves only via North San Francisco, Pier 33, which can be reached directly by taking the Ferry from Sausalito.
